I have been trying a number of Brought lights for recessed lighting during my basement. This is actually the whitest and also the cleverest I have found. I love the actual way it distributes the sunshine on the reasonable size area. Eventually, I intend to replace our dimmable recessed lighting with one of these lights.
I really like Amazon . com but regrettably the cost is much excessive here.

We have a kitchen with 8 recessed lights. They are on many hours a day and even the "long life" incandescent bulbs don't seem to last a year. Plus that is 520 watts every time my wife/kid turns on the lights. I wanted LED's to save on the electric bill. My wife didn't want any of the "ugly" ones, which was every bulb except this one. I bought one to try it out. At first she was not sure if she liked it, but after a week she came to love the new bulb. It is a whiter light. Our counter is now looks white instead of yellow under the standard incandescent lights (which are all yellow, but you are just used to them.)
We bought 7 more and have been changing them out one at a time as the old ones burn out. We are up to 5 LED's, and my wife is about ready to start braking the old ones on purpose just to replace them all with the new LED's, which she now loves and hates the old yellow ones. This is a "whiter" light than you are used to with standard bulbs, so they are not as "warm" as the warm lights you have now, but your eyes adjust to any bulb you have.
The LED's are also much cooler. Even after they have been on for hours, they are still cool to the touch. I was worried that in the recessed sockets, the small amount of heat they produced would get trapped in the socket and overheat the bulb, which is the bane of LED bulbs. Not a concern. Even running these 8 hours/day, they should last 7+ years. Even without the reduction in energy, that would probably pay for itself vs the many incandescent bulbs we would have bought. Burning just 20% of the electricity will pay for the bulbs several times over again.
I HATE CFL's. It is a terrible light (not pure) and they contain mercury, may not be disposed of in the trash and are not environmentally friendly. People who like them must have never tried LED's. I've used LED flashlights for years. Glad to finally have a good LED for the home. Now looking to replace most of the lights in our house with LED's.
The only "negative" is that the light takes slightly longer to turn on. By slightly, I mean about 1/10th of a second. Probably would never notice it, except that I still have a few incandescent bulbs to compare to when I flip the switch. Only reason I mention is that for some, that might matter for some reason, and I never knew there was any delay with LED's. This little thing does not stop us from loving these light bulbs. Think of them as investing, not expensive bulbs. They will pay for themselves in the long run, even compared to CFL's.

If you prefer the warmth that a regular incandescent gives but still want to save energy and especially your money, then use Philips AmbientLED (TM) Dimmable 13W BR30 Flood LED light bulb. This just lasts longer in terms of lifespan compared to your regular incandescent bulb so you won't need to change the light fixture as often as well.
